BY4AOH - Olympic Hotel Amateur Radio Station

 

by4aoh1.jpgJiang Yi-hua, BD4DY, works at the hotel and operates the amateur radio station which is located in its own office on the 1st floor. He was my guide at the station during my visit in February, 2002.

 

 

 

 

 

 

by4aoh2.jpg (29579 bytes)Pictured on the right is me at the main operating position. A Kenwood TS850-S is used for HF. There are assorted VHF/UHF radios for 2m & 70cm operation. Phone, CW, and SSTV are the main modes.

 

 

 

 

 

by4aoh3.jpgThe antenna farm is located on the hotel roof. In this view from the ground, you see the 3-element HF yagi (up 30 meters), and the UHF & VHF antennas.  Not visible is the Butternut vertical (up 10 meters). The dishes provide satellite TV (for the hotel guests).
