Hello Celebrating 100 years of Voice over Radio worldwide

     I cannot believe that it is almost seven years since I became an amateur radio operator (ham).  I have met many people and continue to enjoy the hobby.  I am not a contester but rather a ragchewer who likes to chase a little DX every now and then.  I live in Southern Westchester County in the City of Yonkers, New York.  I have listed a few favorite sites here and  links to the clubs I belong to.

     After all these years I caught the CW bug (pun intended!).  Not that I am any good at it but I am trying!

     Belonging to a club and sharing the fun of the hobby is what Amateur Radio is all about!  If you think this hobby might be for you find a club in your area and visit them.

    This poem is dedicated to all Police Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. 

A Part of America Died

Somebody killed a policeman today,
and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
with counsel demanding his rights,
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
and spend alone many long nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield too,
just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
It Happened in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
and he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call, and gave us his all,
and a part of America died.
