November 4, 1998 Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Meeting, 11/4/98

ATTENDEES:

BUSINESS:
Keys: Where are they? Our key supply is getting rather low.
Dr. Volts: Dr. Volts went rather well. Total cost to the club after SAFC was ~ $150. Possibly we will have Jim back for another talk. Maybe advertise better and get TCARC involved next time. Picures of the show may be found at http://www.qsl.net/w2cxm/volts.html
Budget: About $100 left in each account after Dr. Volts.
Satellite Station: Satellite station most likely delayed till spring. Will try to get some work done on it during the winter months. Still need to find elevation rotor, mast, feedline, and some hardware. Discussion of where to place antennas -- may want to swap 2 meter beam antennas with the ringo on top of the HF yagi.
ATV: Delayed until Spring. Will work on getting it ready over the Winter.
Repeater: Repeater controller will be fixed over winter break. Two possible options for taking it down with the first option being favored by most:

• Take down on December 9th, put back up by January 8th at the earliest.
• Take down on January 8th and put it back up when it arrives back.

Misc.:

1. Doc may be the next TCARC president?
2. N2I QSLs need to be made.
3. Spring activities: licensing push, hamfest planning, ATV, satellites.
4. Spring budget: $500 for the telephone, $100 for antennas, other stuff?
5. ARRL CW Sweepstakes this weekend.
