BUSINESS:
Repeater Antenna: Repeater whip on Bradfield Hall apparently needs to be guyed down. KF6EXF will be looking into this.
Repeater Controller: The repeater controller no longer responds to DTMF input. The club will need to get schematics and look into fixing it, as well as look into borrowing equipment from TCARC while we are repairing the controller. Also must get access to Bradfield since Charlie no longer has access.
Budget: Budgets due on Sept. 14, budget hearing on Sept. 20. Ideas for the budget include:

Classes/Seminars: May hold classes or seminars when the weather gets bad.
New Advisor: Professor Mike Thompson from Materials Science.
Hamfest: Cyrus reported that there were problems getting all of the necessary approvals for holding the hamfest here on campus. The options of cancelling or relocating the hamfest were discussed, and after some discussion the club voted to cancel the hamfest. Announcements would be sent out to reach as many people as possible to inform them of the cancellation. Doc said he would help get the word out. The club will try planning a 'fest for next year.
Dr Volts: October 28, 1998... with a possible Halloween theme? With Matt no longer working at Snee, we will need to find a new location, possibly Rockefeller. Someone will talk to Carl, KB2SGX, to see about arranging a room. We will advertise at other meetings and maybe in the Daily Sun, Chronicle, etc... Possibly, we will charge $1 for students, $3 for anyone else. Cyrus was going to look into getting university permission.
HF Interference: Will look into placing RF chokes on police equipment to solve interference problem.
ATV: Relocating the TCARC ATV repeater to the club station was discussed.
Satellite Station!: New Kenwood TS-790 all-mode 2M/440 rig is here. Thanks to Doc we also have antennas to construct our satellite station. Someone will be looking into getting permission from public safety and the building manager to put up the antennas. Still haven't decided exactly how they will be put up (which tower, etc...)
Next Meeting: September 16, 1998, 7:00 PM. The new station combination will be distributed.
Activities: Contest schedule and other relevant event schedules can be found on the CARC web page.
