Meeting Minutes
Minutes were not taken formally for this meeting of the CARC,
but I'll give you the basic gist of what happened.
- PIZZA! Jonah and others collaborated to
pick up some pizza and beverages and much of it was
consumed. It was agreed that we should do this at other
times occasionally.
- Floor Cleaning: The floor has been
cleaned. I will arrange to have it cleaned next semester
(towards the end) as well. The club would like to see the
Station kept as clean and organized as possible.
- VE Testing: The VE session went well,
with a handful of non-club Cornell students getting
licenses. It was agreed that next time, an effort to
reach out to these new hams should be made to offset
waning membership.
- Spring 1997 Budget: We discussed budget
items for next semester. One strong consideration of the
club is attempting to get a connection of some kind to
the Internet. Over the next few weeks Charlie and others
will be filling us in on options that may help us decide
our budget priorities for the spring. Charlie, KB2LXS, is
offering a computer for sale which the club could
purchase and use to get on the internet. The system
consists of a 386DX/33 MHz, 8 MB RAM, 256 KB Cache, 42 MB
IDE Hard Drive, IDE Controller, VGA card & VGA
monitor, 3.5 & 5.25 floppy drives, keyboard, and
mouse. We will need your input on whether to buy this
system and get an internet connection. This will be
discussed further at the January meeting.
