BOARD MEETING Dec. 8
CRA II HOLIDAY BANQUET Dec. 10
PUBLIC SERVICE
The final two events of the season took place on consecutive Sunday’s last month, both equestrian events. November 7th, we were down at Millstone for the 25 mile Canal Ride. It is a fundraiser for a disease that causes blindness in horses. The day was cold and windy, but no sign of rain like they had the year before. Only three of us made the event, KB2RWY, N2UYV, and KB5U (up 1 from last year, but the event should have four ops!) In the first loop of the ride, the horses cross a busy road intersection and then go about 10 miles down and back, crossing one more road in the process. Cheryl stayed at the command post, Tim took the center road crossing and Keith hopscotched from the first road crossing to the turn-around and then back to road crossing again. Tim and Cheryl finished up the last leg alone. No injuries or accidents to report, so it was a quiet enjoyable day watching the horses.
A larger event took place on the following Sunday, new to CRA participation and a last minute call-up, was the Bucks County Horse Park event. This was not even announced at a meeting, and was ‘unofficial’ for Cherryville. About nine of us worked the event, and Duncan was a star attraction riding his new horse in their first competition. A 3 part event, we were stationed at various locations on the cross country portion of the event where riders traverse about two and a half miles with 16-18 jumps and a water crossing. We were just able to cover enough areas to be in position to see all the jumps and report any injuries, etc. Luckily we were not needed in an emergency capacity this time.
Both events drew tremendous raves and thank yous for the Cherryville operators!

GET WELL CHARLIE!
Unfortunately, WB2NQV will not be the M/C next week at our Holiday Banquet. He has been a major figure in the production for many years and we will miss him.
His excuse for not coming? Well, see below:
Hi Gang,
I will not be visiting the Northeast this Christmas, No Christmas Banquet, etc. The reason is…
I have a broken leg!! It's kinda tuff getting around with a ton of cast on my limb. Actually I cracked some joints in the knee and it has been held in place by a foot to butt cast. I can't put any pressure on it so I'm cruising around in a wheel chair and a walker.
73's,
Charlie
