W2CRA ~ Education

Cherryville's education committee periodically runs classes to help newcomers to amateur radio obtain their entry-level amateur radio license (known as the "Technician Class" license). The classes are not in the form of lectures. Rather, they are opportunities to ask experienced hams questions about the material. (Students are encouraged to obtain the study guide and read it prior to attending the class.) Question and answer training will also be available during these sessions for those wishing to advance to General or Extra Class.

Classes are held on two consecutive weekends, typically 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday afternoon, and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon. A testing session is offered at 4:00 pm (not 3:00 pm) on the second Sunday. Advanced exams, i.e. General and Amateur Extra will also be available for those wishing to take them.
