W2AMC/R

Raymond Edward Bishop, Sr., W2AMC (SK)
Raymond Edward Bishop, Sr., W2AMC (SK)

The Peconic Amateur Radio Club is privileged to honor Ray Bishop's call sign as its own.

A moving force in local amateur radio activities, Ray was an exemplary amateur radio operator who continued to be active on the air and to be helpful to others right up until the time that cancer carried him away in July of 1958.

...NEW as of 10/2006...

The W2AMC repeater is now an EchoIRLP repeater. Here's the scoop from Jon K1IMD...

In order to connect via EchoLink on a PC, the (remote) callsign must be entered into the node accept list.   Presently, all current PARC members are on the list as well as the system designers.  In summary, to have someone connect to 440.050 remotely via IRLP, they connect to Node 4309.  Via EchoLink, they connect to W2AMC-R via PC or via radio to Node Number 312790.

There are a three of bugs to work out, but nothing that should stop use of the system. One of the bugs is that the node 4309 does not show up on the status page at http://status.irlp.net which should be rectified soon.   If you look at http://www.echolink.org/logins.asp you will find W2AMC-R listed.
