N3GH Tower, Part III

Flash forward to DAYTON 2001...

The deal is sealed with U.S. Tower...

...now its just the preparation and the w_a_i_t!!!

The Preparation:

First, prepare 6" diameter holes, 5' deep into the concrete block.

Install the SIX 4' long steel bolts, pour the grout, and install the new base.

And grout up neatly under the steel base. Nothing's taking this one down!

The Tower goes up...

It's here! Nothing like having the right equipment for the job!

And the crane tilts it up, can you feel the excitement???

Man, 18 bolts!!!

And finally, the antennas!

The 12/17m dual bander, and 6m monobander installed...

Here comes the big 6 element KLM tri-bander...

N3GH & W3PT bolt up the tri-bander...

...and it's done! KC2CKJ and W2AEW survey the tower. "It's a beautiful thing!"

And, the BIG DOG is Back!
