MARC Awards 2004 Scholarship

July 2004

 

The Meriden Amateur Radio Club has selected Kimberly Cornell of the Francis T. Maloney High school in Meriden as the winner of the annual Frank Darmofalski “W1FD” Scholarship for 2004. Miss Cornell was selected partly on the basis of her interest in communications as her study in college. While in school Kimberly has been active in various sports as Captain of the volleyball and softball teams. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council. Kimberly was also a Record Journal Scholar Athlete and served as coach for the Boys and Girls Club Volleyball team.  In addition to various interests she also plays the violin. Kim is  planing to attend Eastern Connecticut State University or Messiah College in Pennsylvania this fall.

 

 

The Meriden Amateur Radio Club, MARC, has been active in the central Connecticut area since its founding in Meriden in 1947. MARC is recognized as a non-profit charitable organization by the IRS for its efforts in technical education, public service, emergency communications and community benevolence
