Sounds of Contesting

Last update was: January 16, 2000

Participating in a contest takes a long term dedication to stay at the microphone or key for a long stretch of time even if you should be in the back yard raking the fallen Autumn leaves or doing Spring season clean-up. It's perservering the continuous high noise and QRM levels during the event that will bring in a satisfying overall personal score.

Setting your own personal goals, whether it's surpassing last year's score, or getting a Clean Sweep in the SS or whatever it may be, will be the key to a fulfilling contest event for you.

Below are several sound files from different contests to give the newcomer an idea of how it's like during the heat of a contest. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing you broke through a pileup to get that much needed and sought after multiplier. CLICK on the speaker icons below. Most of the sound files are between 10 to 40 seconds and download time will vary depending on length. Please be patient.
