On December 18th, Wellfleet Fire Captain Tom Ferreira brought the town ladder truck to Coast Guard Beach to install a pulley and line on the flag pole tower for the 160 meter inverted vee antenna. Members of Fire Management Officer Dave Crary's CACO SEASHORE Fire Team made the long climb up the ladder to make the installation. Don K1DC set up his 1954 Viking Ranger AM/CW transmitter and his 1939 Hallicrafters receiver and we had our first AM QSO with Bob W1QWT from Coast Guard Beach on January 5th.
