Minutes of the Hertland Amateur Radio Club Meeting held September 14, 2000, at McFarlands Restaurant, Topeka, Kansas Meeting was called to order by First Vice-President-Secretary, Jerry, KØJAL, at 6:36 CT. Six members and one guest were present. As there were no minutes from the last meeting, the reading of the minutes was dispensed with. Scott, NØXF, gave the treasurer's report. After paying for flowers for the funeral of the Club's late President, Jim, KAØFEW, the balance in the checking account was $53.55. Terry NØWNT moved to accept the treasurer's report, Todd, KØKAN, seconded. The treasurer's report was approved. Old Business: Scott, NØXF, showed receipt for flowers and mentioned that the Club received a thank-you note from Jim Ross' family. The CROP Walk is to be held on October 1st at 1 PM at Lake Shawnee was discussed. The Club will be providing volunteer communications for the event. New Business: It was announced that the Alzheimer's fund raising walk will be held at Lake Shawnee on October 7. Those wishing to help with volunteer communications should be there between 7 and 8 AM. Further details will be posted on the Club'sWeb site. According to Club bylaws, the First Vice President-Secretary shall serve out the unexpired term of the Club President if that office is vacated, provided that the unexpired portion of the term is less than 180 days. President Jim Ross' unexpired term is less than 180 days, he having passed away on July 16, 2000, therefore, First Vice President- Secretary Jerry KØJAL was declared president for the rest of the year 2000. Club bylaws also provide for the election of a new First Vice President- Secretary when that office is vacated. President Jerry KØJAL called for nominations from the floor. Scott N0XF nominated Todd KØKAN. Terry, NØWNT moved that nominations close. Joanie, NØYF, seconded, motion passed. Todd, KØKAN was elected First Vice President-Secretary for the remainder of year 2000 by acclimation. Joanie, NØYF, moved to adjourn. Todd, KØKAN, seconded, motion passed and meeting was adjourned at 6:46 CT. A program and demonstration of the new digital mode for HF called PSK-31 was presented by Jerry, KØJAL.
Heartland Amateur Radio Club 12 October 2000 This meeting was called to order at 6:45 pm by President Jerry KØJAL. There were five members present. A motion to dispense with introductions passed. There was a motion to dispense with the reading of the secretary's report as well as the treasurer's report. This motion carried. Old Business Crop Walk and Alzheimer's Walk both went well. Thanks to everyone who could help out. There is an exam session Saturday 14 Oct at 7 pm at the Red Cross building on W. 17th St in Topeka. Other sessions: Sat 11 November at 2 pm in Wamego at the Masonic Hall, next-door south of the Columbian Theater. Contact Chuck Carter AAØRI at aa0ri@kansas.net or 785-456-8596. New Business Need to remind everyone that nominations for next year's officers will be at the December meeting, only two months. Terry NØWNT has been updating the club's web page, and also started an amateur radio SiteRing for amateur radio clubs. So far fifteen sites have joined the ring. Dues for year 2000 are $10.00 for an individual and $15.00 for a
family. Dues paid after June 30th are half price till October at
which time the dues go back to full price but are good through
the following year.CLUB MEETING :

6:30 P.M. at McFarland's Restaurant at 4133 SW Gage Center Dr.
