On Thursday, November 11, 2004 the Marshall County Amateur Radio Club will operate a special event station from the Pony Express Museum in Marysville, Kansas. The purpose is to commemorate the Sesquicentennial of the city of Marysville and the 150th anniversary of the first civilian U.S. Post Office in the Territory of Kansas.
Operation will generally be in the General 20 and 40 meter bands in both CW and Phone modes. Operation frequencies will be near 14.050 MHz and 7.050 MHz for CW and 14.250 MHz and 7.250 MHz for voice. Hours of operation will be from 1400Z Nov. 11 to 0500Z Nov. 12.
The call sign WØGCJ is a vanity call obtained by the club to honor one of its charter members, Ernest Wolff.
