WØEKS Ham Bio

Hello, I go by the nickname Jack.

I am privileged to be licensed in amateur radio since July 1983, first as novice KAØRFR, then AAØDI, then NØNV, and now my SK father's call, WØEKS.

I run mainly an IC-756 pro III HF rig which I've owned for 12 years, into an 80-meter horizontal loop antenna which works all HF bands (on 160 I load the feedline and use the loop as a capacity hat).

I operate almost 100% CW now. Good for 20 WPM rag-chewing (faster on "rubberstamp" QSOs), using one of several Vibroplex bugs.

QSL cards are a hobby unto itself for me. I like collecting them, even though they're obsolete for awards credit.

Hope to meet you on the air.

73, Jack
