Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) is a FEMA sponsored program designed to prepare you to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster.  Because emergency services personnel will not be able to help everyone immediately, you can make a difference by using the training to save lives and protect property.
This training covered the following topics:
1. Disaster Preparedness - Disaster threats
2. Disaster Fire Suppression - Putting out small fires and turning off gas leaks
3. Disaster Medical Operations - Triage, first aid, splinting, burn care, wound care
4. Light Search and Rescue Operations - Conducting searches and how to rescue
5. Disaster Psychology and Team Organization
6. Disaster Drill

The Tri-State Amateur Radio Club is the first amateur radio club in Iowa to have taken the C.E.R.T. training.
