Michael,
I assume that your SMA is a straight or right angle connector, and not an end
launch connector. I've had good luck in the past with removing the copper
in all of the planes to a point where the copper was tangential to the four
ground pins of the SMA (sorry, but I can't remember the stackup). As I
recall, the connector was still slightly capacitive. I placed a small delrin
washer under the SMA to position it slightly higher. This small added center
pin inductance counteracted the connector capacitance, making a perfect
doublet when viewed with a 20ps TDR.
