We do a high speed design class at our facility once or twice a year.
"....Black Magic" has always been the book of choice until this year. I was
so impressed by the "High Speed Digital Design" (Hall, Hall, McCall), that
it's our new text book for the course. I like the fact that there is a
chapter dedicated to crosstalk, and I like the way it's organized. There are
some general rules in the book, but most of the time they are backed up with
analysis.
the one thing I would really like to see is a good, practical, and complete,
explanation on decoupling. something that we could use as policy....

Hi all,
Does anyone know if a new edition of Ritchey Lee's book (1) or Howard
Johnson's book (2) will be issue or they are still pretty much up to date.
I have just got the one from Stephen Hall (3) and there are some
discrepancies between what Stephen says and what the 2 first authors wrote
(as instance: Differential signals as to be routed as differential pairs,
Power plane split, etc.... ). I noticed that there is a lot of "rules of
thumb" in the latest book (3), that's what scares me.
Any comments ??
