3M ARC July 2000 Meeting Minutes
The monthly meeting of the 3MARC was held July 13, 2000 at Mr. Gatti’s Restaurant on Hwy 620. There were 10 members present. President Dwight Baldwin called the meeting to order at 6 PM. The June meeting minutes are on the web site and were accepted as posted. The treasure’s report was not available at the meeting. Projects Satellite Station-Work has begun on the satellite station. John Benedict and Dwight Baldwin are laying out and connecting 3 cables for this system. HF Station-The coax cable for the vertical has been repaired and is now operational. Events
Field Day-The June 24-25 Field Day was a success. The goal was to earn 2400 points in the 6E classification. There were 1165 contacts made for a total of 2330 points. These numbers are not finalized as some of the contacts need to be verified. The club would like to extend special thanks to Tom Nevue for organizing the event and to Elmont Hollingsworth for the loan of the portable generator. Special Event-Club members reaffirmed by vote their interest in the K3M (start of the 3rd millennium) event. Dwight Baldwin will start the planning for the event. Old Business
The TM3530A (220MHz FM only transceiver) has been posted for sale on E-Bay. Speculation is it should sell for around $250. The club will donate $20 to QSL.net for the use of their web page. Several members are also going to donate individually but through the club. The registration of the ACDsee (SSTV software) is completed. New Business
A motion was made and seconded and passed to send Harold Bates a thank you letter for the donation of the 4 element 6 meter antenna to the club, and also for the loan of the 6 meter J-pole and 6 meter transceiver for field day. Over 100 contacts were made with the radio and beam antenna. The Visual Systems Division donated 10 overhead projectors to the club for our disposal. The units are going to be put up for sale on the E-Bay web site. One unit has now sold for $51. The meeting was adjourned at 6:50. Program SSTV
