May balance $453.17 73 Magazine -$23.97 QSL.Net -$20.00 Skywarn subsidy +$252.00 New Member +8.00 6/11/99 balance $669.20 Committee Reports Antenna committee-The 20 meter beam is up and working. The 40 meter beam will be scheduled for installation in the fall. The aluminum scrap pile on the roof needs to be cleaned up. There are some parts that are good and could be used to construct home antennas. No other committee reports available. Old Business and general discussions The radio room clean up is almost completed. The floor will be washed and waxed before the June field day event. Kudos to Tom Nevue for a good job. Since the radio room is cleaned, it was suggested that the proposed open house be scheduled very soon. The 3rd weekend in July has been proposed. Suggested a firm date be selected at the July meeting. The scheduled date should be tied to a release of the 3M Star magazine in order to obtain the most exposure for the open house. Discussion of the radio room equipment. Due to membership changes of the years, there is questions regarding who owns what equipment in the radio room. Tom Nevue will talk to Larry Gensch regarding what equipment is his. The proposed monthly meeting at the Lone Star Café did not work out because Lone Star will not guarantee a meeting room. Members have been asked to be on the lookout for other possible locations for future meetings. The June field day event in the parking garage has been cancelled due to other commitments by many members. There are not enough people to erect antennas and operate equipment for the 24 hour period. As an alternate proposal, Tom Nevue will be in the radio room on 6/26 from 12 noon until about 9 PM. Anyone wishing to operate or help log calls can show up during this time period.
New Business Emergency repairs were required on the 2 meter repeater. Tom Nevue work on the repeater for about 24 hours. Many thanks are extended to Tom for this work. The repairs were completed in time for the Austin Radio Club to use the repeater for their special event. The UPS (uninterruptable power source) needs to be repaired. Since the UPS is also used as a back up for the 3M communications system, 3M facilities has agreed to pay for the repairs. The meeting was adjourned at 6:55pm to be followed by a talk by Tom Nevue regarding operation of a special events station. Respectfully Submitted
