Meeting Minutes
June 12, 2003

Meeting location: Mr. Gatti’s on Hwy 620
Call to order: 6:03 p.m.

Secretary’s report: The minutes of the May meeting were posted on the web site and hard copies were available at the meeting. Tom Nevue moved to accept the minutes as written, Dick Taylor seconded, motion unanimously approved.

Treasurer’s report: Tom Nevue presented the treasurer’s report. Dan Cronch. moved to accept, Elmont Hollingsworth seconded, motion carried.

Old Business:

Tom Nevue and John Benedict continue to be distracted from the 220 MHz repeater project. There was a power supply failure on the 440 side of the repeater. Tom and John are in the process of repairing the power supply.

At last months meeting, Dan Reisem raised the possibility of moving the meeting to Denny’s if the Austin city council passes the smoking ban. If all smoking is prohibited, the smoking room at Denny’s might become a possible meeting room. The city council passed the no-smoking ordinance. However, there is speculation that the newly elected mayor and council members will rescind the ordinance. Dan R. has not looked into Denny’s yet. 

Field Day: Go to www.hambuds.com to sign up. The group will be at Milburn Park. Take Cypress Creek Rd. to Sunchase, then north on Sunchase through the park entrance. The field day group will set up at the back of the park. They are looking for CW operators.

Guest speaker: Elmont’s neighbor, Mike Daugherty, has offered to speak about his PC radio.

New Business:

Magazine Subscriptions: Tom requested that the club renew the magazine subscriptions for a 3-year term at a cost of about $150. Dan C. moved to approve the payment. Elmont seconded and the motion was unanimously approved.

Meeting adjourned at 6:21 p.m., so moved by Elmont and seconded by Tom.
