Projects

HF Station- Vertical antenna repair - John Benedict installed a connector on the coax . The plan is to pull 2 coax cables and power cable in the trough on Monday PM.

Events

Field Day will be on June 24-25. Plans are moving along for this event. An operation strategy , list of project volunteers, and a list of operating /logging volunteers was developed. It looks like we have just enough volunteers to operate the primary station. We are looking for more volunteers to operate the secondary stations. Harold offered his 6 meter station and the club accepted. We need to setup a work date to temporarily install the antenna. Elmont offered to get the generator used a couple of years ago; free. He will deliver it to John for checkout and transport in his trailer. Project and volunteer list will be sent via email.

W2T-Year 2000/Y2K special event is complete. The final tally is approximately 125. Just received 3 more certificate requests.

Old Business

Disposition of the TM3530A- Microphone has been setup and the radio checked out and cleaned. It will be posted on ebay in about a week using the same strategy as sale of the 430mhz multimode radio, several months ago

Code/Theory Classes-1 person is still participating in the code class (challenge) and 1 person has completed the course but has not yet taken the test. Seven copies of the Ham University course have been sold.

New Business

John proposed that we register our trial copy of ACDsee used for thumbnail management on the SSTV station and on our web page. The approximate cost is $49. The club voted OK.

John agreed to offer SSTV training in the radio room, for anyone interested. Contact John KB6VRS.

Dwight proposed that the club send a $20 donation to QSL.net for providing space for our web page. He also suggested the donation could include additional personal donation from those who have web sites on QSL.net. The cover letter would credit the radio club and any individual , by their callsign. Tom and Dwight said that they would be contributing. The club voted OK.

The business meeting was adjourned at about 7:00 to be followed by the program. The program for tonight is "Field Day preparation".
