Reports of Standing Committees

Computer Upgrades in the Radio Room

The room is full of computers/parts and must be cleaned up soon.

The meeting was concluded at 6:15 PM and was followed by a discussion of

what to plan on for Field Day.(June 22-23).

The following was agreed on by those present.

1.Go for the fun rather than the points. Two reasons for this a) we lack

sufficient committed people to go for the points,ie. we have 5 and b) the

consensus was that the equipment should stay where it is.

2.use emergency power- provided by N5PAT and thus enter Class E

3.Use linear if wanted or needed as opposed to going for the power

multiplier

4.use 2 HF set-ups,maybe three if the 3rd antenna works+ UHF/VHF.

These stations should be set up and checked prior to FD.

5.Modes- SSB,CW & PSK31

6.Can we set up two computers for logging? Or, would one do?

    Who knows about logging software?

7.Set-up Sat AM and Sun tear down- simple but we should ask for several

committed people to include at least one 3M employee to escort them.

8.MUST- set up a schedule for 3M employees and publish so that no-nemployees

can get in.

9.Note to advise Security what's up

a) generator in driveway

     b) power cord from driveway yo shack

     c) strange visitors in the night

     d) general note about FD as an emergency test.

10.Publish shack 984 number and use either 146.9 or 0.53 as a call in to

advise escort service of pending arrival.

11.arrange internal publicity for club

a) on TV's at entrance

     b) copy Riech on note to whomever heads Security

     c) Austin Star

We won't get points, but need internal corporate awareness of emergency

test and public service

12.Food & beverage-bring your own but consider pizza delivery for Sat

dinner-ad hoc

13. Y connections for headphones and headphones- Suggest for each XCVR on

HF
