3M ARC February 2000 Meeting MinutesThe monthly meeting of the 3MARC was held on February 10, 2000 at Mr. Gatti’s Pizza Restaurant on Hwy 620. There were 10 members present. Vice President Dick Taylor was in charge of the meeting in the absence of President Dwight Baldwin. The monthly meeting minutes are now posted on the web site. There were no additions or corrections so the minutes were accepted as posted. The treasures report was read and accepted. PROJECTS There were no project reports for this month. EVENT NEWS Field Day will be on June 17th and 18th this year. The club will operate from the 3MARC ham shack this year. Tom Nevue is trying to get permission to use a 3M generator so we can get an upgraded classification. The Motorola Marathon will be held on February 20th, anyone interested in helping out can get information from motorolamarathon.com. The certificates from the Y2K event are completed. Tom Nevue sent around a finalized version for inspection. We have received about 140 requests for certificates to date. Tom will write and e-mail requesting help when he is ready to start validating and mailing the certificates. There was general consensus that the Y2K event was successful and fun. Based on this discussion, a motion was made and seconded to try another special event for next New Year’s eve. Tom Nevue will apply for a special event callsign. Planning for the new event will begin later in the year. Outlaw 100 race-There was no information available at this time. NEW BUSINESS Adopt a Highway Cleanup-There are now about 8 volunteers for the highway cleanup on April 1st. A luncheon will be planned for the crew after the cleanup is completed. Recommendations were solicited for suggestions of what to do with the money earned from the cleanup. Some of the suggestions were: test equipment, antenna analyzer, headphones, deviation meter, noise sniffer, QRP radio or Christmas party door prizes.
