I am Dipak Chakraborty, eldest and only son of Sri Dilip Kumar Chakraborty and Smt. Dipali Chakraborty (nee Chatterjee). Born on 13th of January 1967 at Srirampur, Hooghly, West Bengal, India ; we are Bengali speaking Hindu Brahmins. I have a younger sister who is happily married of. I am better known as "Dipak" (my handle) on the Band.

I married Manjul (nee Ganguly) on 3rd July 2003, and our only son Debarshee (Rishi) was born on 21st June 2004. Ours is a happy joint family

I am interested in Electronics & Communications since childhood but appeared for the Amateur Radio (HAM) Station Operation Examination Grade -II & Grade -I both in 1998. I received my license in 1999, License number 9873 Category – Grade-II and I am on the air since then. I operate on HF 40/20/15 meter and VHF. My Citizen Band License became operational in 1996. I am most interested in VHF/UHF and Citizen Band communications, also Satellite communications. My other major interest is Microprocessor based Equipments Development. I love to take part in Expeditions whenever I get a chance between Ham Radio and Career.

Professionally, my job is associated with VSAT Communication, HUB Operation, and Computer Hardware Maintenances, all over East and North East India.
