This page is all about those wonderful digital interface
which allow us to remotely Control or monitor devices (over
the net also), helping our PC to measure parameter like
temperature, pressure and sound with the help of Analog to
Digital (A2D) interfaces, also help in PC-driven
voltage-based motor speed control and PC-based wave
generators using Digital to Analog (DAC) technology. Some of
these interfaces also help us in perform applications like
automating our home (e.g. turn on/off air-conditioning) and
data acquisition (e.g. measure temperatures)
Programming these interfaces is done using MS Qbasic
software which is bundled free with our Operating System
(OS). With some experience in MS Qbasic one can switch over
to Visual Basic (VB), which is again a powerful, high-level
Windows-based programming language with a quick learning
curve. High level means the the programmer can avoid tedious
coding do develop his programs.
I strongly recommend
Boondog's Tutorial for all those who are interested in
this field.
