The New HF Design Idea
I am planning a new HF design that would have 12 individual
boards which would be plug in type. 13th (Audio Filter Board ) would be optional
board. This is no way easier and cheaper than the existing NR-60, RM-96 and the
ATS Designs and is meant purely for learning and experimenting experience. This
idea follows, hearing a lot of discussion on the air regarding the drawbacks of
various existing projects available and the difficulty one faces to incorporate
changes / modification into the existing working design. I presume this solves
the problem and gives ample room for experimentation and newer ideas to be added
to the existing design without any problem.
RM-96 Project was chosen for this idea and
the entire project broken up in parts. The basic idea is effortless change of
any of the module's effecting that particular stage with another better design
without disturbing the entire project. If satisfactory results are obtained then
the newer module can remain in the project and the older kept as a stand by.
This gives room for a genuine home brewer to better each stage with additional
modules at his convenience and time. Also, changing the band of operation, could
be simple using this philosophy. Well advantages are many but not easy.

Artwork for a couple of boards is already
thru and I wish to complete the receiver side first. Monitor the progress and
then carry on with the Transmitter section.
I am planning to standardize the Pin outs
of these boards. The Boards and In/Out pin details are given
below. Please note the numbers appearing against the name are reference to
bifurcation done on the RM 96 Circuit design.
