At one point of time in 1983(no internet then) I wrote to ARRL and got a very good response in terms of books and literature on how to become a radio ham as I mentioned above to become one was not possible here so the books are lying on the shelf ;-).Some day "Inshallah" I will become a radio ham and fulfill my long cherished dream.

The returned reports of contacts I have made tell me that the audio signal is barely readable while the signal carrier is strong even on low power. I believe I have isolated this problem to the microphone, a Yaesu MH-27. I am looking for a replacement mike or a service manual that will allow me to proceed prudently.

I have had my technician licence since February 2004 and am struggling to pass element 1, the 5 wpm morse code test.
