My name is Steven "Sebastian" Beesley. I hold an Amateur Radio Licence issued by the Office of the Telecommunications Authority in Hong Kong (OFTA). I first got interested in radio whilst I was in Bedford, U.K. My main interest is operating on 50 MHz and Satellite. I am very active on 50MHz and have studied various propagation modes on this band for 2 solar cycles. I am the first operator in Hong Kong to work all continents on 6M (WAC - SSB)Look forward to hear you there ! I also have interest in 144MHz terrestrial SSB operation and have had experience with Earth-Moon-Earth (EME) operation on 2M. I have also built much of my own operating equipment including yagi-uda antennas, very low noise preamplifiers, power amplifiers, transverters, converters and transceivers. By profession I am a Senior Property Manager dealing with property management and facilities management of a large portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial properties. I am a Registered Property Manager, Licensed Estate Agent with the Estate Agents Authority (EAA - HK) and a Property Consultant. I have won several accolades & awards for excellence/best property management. My other interests include archery, ten pin bowling, golf, hiking, music, canoeing and sailing, photography, model railroading, wine tasting, cooking and watching movies. I am registered with the Hong Kong Golf Association and my current handicap is 23.9. My highest single FITA score in tournament archery was 1108. I have also written numerous articles in the past as a reviewer for various hi-end hi-fi journals. I have been past Hon. Secretary of the National Society, Hong Kong Amateur Radio Transmitting Society for many years and I am also the founding member and Hon. Secretary for the Hong Kong Amateur Radio DX Association. Amongst duties as Secretary, I represent the Association in attending regular talks on regulation, planning and policy held with the Government Authority, OFTA. |
