June 21. SFI=152 A=2 K=2 at 12Z
Good opening were seen at about 12-13z to the East to middle part of USA. On 20M at about 14z also gave us opening to the West to middle part of USA.
June 19-20. SFI=147-139-152 A=6-2 K=3-0
During the All Asia CW contest, I could QRV only a few hours after 15z each day. It was however seen good opening to Europe as well as North America on 15M at these times. Also found was continuous good opening to the North America on 17M at about 12z.I will keep my activities particularly on 17M at 12-14z
June 15th, SFI=168 A=1 K=1 at 12z
Good opening on 17M to the middle to east USA at around 12z. 20M opening however was not so good even to the west coast of USA.
June 14th, SFI=168 A=5 K=0 at 12z
Good opening to the middle to east part of USA on 17M at about 12z. Later on the day at about 14-15z 20M brought good sigals from west coast of USA
June 12-13 SFI=165-168 A=5-4 K=1-2
On Saturday, the 12th, 17M opened very strong to the west to middle part of USA at about 14-15z. On Saturday, the 13th, 17M gave good opening to the east to middle part of USA but not much activities. On 20M, good opening to HK5 was found at 12z.
June 8 SFI=158 A=4 K=4 at 12z
While having worked KP4 on 17M/SSB with both side RS of 55 at 11:30z, the bands were quiet for the path to North America in general. JA were heard working CY9SS, but no to marginal copy of CY9 signals.
June 7 SFI=168 A=3 K=1 at 15z
Poor condition on 17/15M. On 20M, west coast of USA were heard strong at about 14z via the short path.
June 5-6 SFI=171-164 A=8-5 K=1/2
In spite of the higher SFI and lower K index, the conditions to the North America were not good over this past weekend. While opening to the North America on 10/12M, only a very merginal long path opening was observed on 10M to middle part of USA. To Europe, the windows opened very narrowly.
June 3 SFI=173 A=10 K=2 at 12z
Although condition were really good on 30/20/17 Meters between 11:30-16z, there were not much activities on the bands. 17M now appears to open to the USA/NA a bit later time of 15-16z.
June 1 SFI=165 A=3 K=2 at 12 z
There were good openings, but not much activities. I worked Raymund, YS1RR both on 12 and 18M, exchangeing RS/55 each other. 5 and 9 area of USA were strong on 17M via the short path at 12-12:30z.
May 31 SFI=155
17M was open to the USA earlier this day at about 11:30-12:30z. 20M gave an excellent opening to the West coast of USA after 14z.
May 29-30 SFI=152-149 A=10-5 K=3-1
Very good conditions to the North America after 11:30z through 19z on 20/17/15M. Particlularly 15M was well packed with those who were in the contest. The biggest for me was CY9RF on 15M at about 18:30z. The beam direction from me was at 300 degree.Thank you, Dan / Doug for a new one.
May 27 SFI=153 A=7 K=2 at 12z
It was a quiet day on 17M at about 11-12z. The band was open though. After 14z, Bill Bannet Family Hour Net on 14145 came loud and clear via the Short path, but again not much activities from the USA.
May 26 SFI=143 A=16 K=0 at 12z
Excellent condition to the east to middle part of the USA on 17M during 12-14z. Worked about 50 stations in SSB/CW. Later on the day at about 14z, 20M brought several west coast of USA to us via the Short path.
May 25 SFI=137 A=11 K=2 at 15z
Several big stations in the USA were heard on 20M at about 12z via the Short path. Otherwise bands were relatively quiet.
May 24 SFI=141 A=12 K=3 at 12z
There were brief openings to the USA/ NA at about 13z on 17M and also 15M.Lenny, K5OVC, said he had worked Alberto/XX9AS on 12M at about 12z.
May 23 SFI=140 A=4 K=4 at 15z
The condition were not as good as in the previousday. CO2JD was heard on 20/CW working JAs but the signal strength did not encourage me to call him. Only several big USA stations were also heard on 20/17M at 11-13z.It was rather quiet day.
May 22 SFI=140 A=7 K=1 at 18z
Such an excellent opening worldwide throughout 20-17-15M between 11:30-18:30z. Worked tens of USA/NA on17M between 11:30-14z on long path and afterward on 15M at 18z ( 2 a.m. local !) on short path. I will be looking for NA on 20/17/15M on Sunday the 23rd at those hours again.
May 19 SFI=141 A=22 K=2 at 12z
10M was open to South America, but not that much activities on this band. 17M was narrowly opened to East Canada at about 13z, which was so confirmed with Rick, VE1GN. Some west coast of USA were heard on 15M at about 14z.
May 18 SFI=145 A=2.K=3 at 15z
After a long while, 10M was open to the USA at about 13z via the long Path. But the window was opened only to 5 and then 4 area of USA. As I was busy on 10M and later to chase, in vain, 3B9FR on 40M, no idea how the condx of 20/17/15M were.
May 17 SFI=152 A=4 K=2 at 12z
Between 12 and 14z, we saw good opening from USA/NA on 15M. It seemed that the long path route was a bit stronger. As the condition was good, my powerless signal ( 200 watts output ) could not attract the attention of the North America and I achieved nothing on 15M on this date. I then moved to 17M to have worked a few USAs at about 13:30z.
May 16 SFI=144 A=5 K=2 as at 12z
The condition over this past weekend were really good. In particulra on the 16th Sunday. I could manage to work J87AB, Mike as my all time new DXCC country on 17M at 12z. Between 11:40-14:20z, 17M were open to the North America from East coast to West coast as the time went by. AT 17z, 12M were also open to the west coast of USA and South America, and I worked about 10 N/S American stations with RS of 55-57. The bands are really hot.
May 13 SFI=153 A=7 K=3 as at 12z
The Condition were not as bad as being predicted, but I made only a few QSOs with stations in the 2/4/5 area of the USA on 20M at about 12z. 12M was seen in an excellent shape to Europe at about 14z.
May 12 SFI=159 A=2 K=2 as at 12z
While some north American stations were heard on 20/17/15M working JAs, HLs, BYs and BVs between 11-13z, the condition from us were not interactive. I could however work VE1GN and a few 2/4/5 area of the USA on 17M after 12z. The path to Europe on 10M were good after 13z and so as on 15M after 14z.
May 11 SFI=170 A=4 K=0 as at 12z
I started a bit late on this date as I attended monthly meeting of H.A.R.T.S. At about 12:40z, I worked a few USAs on 17M/CW, but there were not much activities at their end. The 6O pedition team were both heard on 10 and 17M with good signal and were easy here to work at about 13z.
May 10 SFI=178 A=3 K=2 as at 12z
I worked VP2EBR on 20/SSB at about 11z. His signal were 44-55 via the short path. It was a very short window and his signal was lost soon after the QSO. Between 12 -13z, there were light and sporadic openings to the east to middle part of the North America on 17M. It was however not as good as on the past Sunday.
May 8 & 9 SFI=above 170
Nice opening over this past weekend on 20/17/15/12M to the USA/North America at about 11-13z. On the 9th, I worked Lenny, K5OVC on 12M/SSB at about 12:30z with 55/55. After 13z, very good opening to the east to middle part of the USA on 17M/CW.
May 5, 1999 SFI=136 A=10 K=3
Opening to the North America were not as good as on the 4th. Worked only a few East to Middle part of the USA on 17M at abt 12:30z, but their signals were 549-569. At 15z, 10M was nicely opened to the South America.
May 4, 1999
There was a very short window opened on 17M to the Eastern part of the USA at about 12:30z. 15M thenafter was opened at about 13z to the USA via the long path, and some big station, like K3ZO, was heard 59 here. There were however not much activities from the North America. At about 22:30z, W4XJ was heard as 559 on 17M working some JAs. As far as I am aware of, it was the best opening day to the States ont higher bands in the last 10 days.
May 2, 1999
A typhoon is now approaching to us as at 07z. Today, I limit my activities onto 30/17/12M with wire antenna. At 06:47z, I worked Robert/ 3B9FR for the first time in SSB. He seems to be active in SSB as well these days.
April 30, 1999
The bands were very quiet and no QSO made with the North America. At about 14z, however, a few W6s were heard calling the Asia on the Long Path on 20M. They were 55 but they could not copy me at all.
April 25, 1999
There were good opening to VP5 and HKs on 20M via the Long Path at about 12z. Most of them were 55 here.
