ScimitarV VHF Tactical Radio

Scimitar V is a frequency hopping VHF, simplex FM combat net radio, with built-in cryptographic protection, for use in manpack or vehicle roles. It operates in the frequency range 30 MHz to 88 MHz with 25 KHz channel spacing giving a total of 2320 possible channels.

Scimitar V comprises a die cast light alloy chassis and front panel. Plug-in modular construction is used for the majority of the internal electronics. These features combine a lightweight rugged construction with eases of maintenance.

The case covers incorporate environmental seals to protect against the ingress of moisture. The radio can withstand water immersion of the manpack to a depth of 1m and exposure to driving rain for a vehicle station.

My Scimitar V purchased from UK and lack of frequency hopping possibility. It is a vehiclar version and with power output only 4 watt, if you want have higher power, a RF Amp is a easy job for every one. You can see the internal view Photo that one module is missing (original design?). But this is a very good radio, sensitivity is excellent and can compare with nowadays amateur radio equipment. The red color LED display has a three dash forming a receiving signal strength meter. The radio is in brand new condition and comes with a 24 volts supply assembly. The sequelch control is noise type and with 150 Hz tone in transmitting.
