Willis Island is used as a manned Australian weather station, and is separated by more than 350 km from the rest of Australia. 

The 43' sailing catamaran "Bach and Byte" sailed from Keppel Bay Marina, Yeppoon, Queensland, May 10.
The crew returned to Bowen on Tuesday May 23.
