News Bulletin #16 - 24/4/01
QRT :(
VK9ML finally went QRT around 0600 today.
Most of the gear was dismantled and packed away before dark,
and the few remaining items to pack will be done at first light.
It will take some time to un-hook the catamaran which was
hooked to bommies at three points.
The crew now have a rough 70 hour sail back to mainland
Australia to look forward to... not!
Shortly there will be a complete on-line log along with statistics,
so keep checking this website. There will also be lots of interesting
pictures that the team were taking whilst on the reef.
It is interesting to note that the reef is actually growing in size,
being significantly bigger than what it was a number years ago.
There is a catchment area to retain fresh water and there is plenty
of natural vegetation growing on the reef.
Thank you to those who have left comments, both positive and
negative, in the Guestbook.
