Note 1: Band Access
Operation below 2400MHz is restricted in most capital cities and major
regional centres due to MDS Pay TV. MDS Channels 6-19 occupy this part
of the band. Their frequencies are:

Ch6 2302-2309MHz Ch13 2351-2358MHz
Ch7 2309-2316MHz Ch14 2358-2365MHz
Ch8 2316-2323MHz Ch15 2365-2372MHz
Ch9 2323-2330MHz Ch16 2372-2379MHz
Ch10 2330-2337MHz Ch17 2379-2386MHz
Ch11 2337-2344MHz Ch18 2386-2393MHz
Ch12 2344-2351MHz Ch19 2393-2400MHz

Note 2: Beacons
Beacon Frequencies are allocated on a call area basis.
eg VK1: 2403.410-2403.419, VK2: 2403.420-2403.429 etc. Parallel beacon
frequencies are also allocated at 2424MHz for future use. Beacon spacing
is 2KHz.

Note 3: Linear Translators
Inband: 2404.700/2424.700, 2404.800/2424.800
                               2404.900/2424.900
Crossband to 2m or 70cm: 2403.625, 2403.650, 2403.675
Crossband to 23cm: 2404.000-2404.600
Crossband to bands above 13cm: 2405.000-2406.000

Note 4: FM Simplex Voice & Data
FM Simplex voice channels are 25KHz spacing. FM Simplex Data channels
are 100KHz spacing for high speed applications.

Note 5: FM Duplex
Channel spacing is 25KHz and the offset is 20MHz. It is recommended that
channel spacings of 100KHz are used first. They can be used for repeaters
or links. It is recommended that voice links use the lower channels, and
data links use the higher channels.

Note 6: SSB & FM Call Channel
Be aware that 2403.100 & 2425.000 are national call channels. Contact
should be established on this channel and then the operators should
QSY. Where an FM repeater pair is not in use in the local area, it too is
then available for FM simplex working, but users should be aware of DX
conditions that may trigger distant repeaters.
