The Town of Kapunda

Looking North up the Main Street of Kapunda

The view to the South

Kapunda (we say it like "Cap-Under"), is located 80 Kilometres North of the City of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia

There are some 3,500 people living in the town and on surrounding farms, mostly either running Sheep or producing Grain, the town started in 1842, with the discovery of Copper - this might explain the good groundplane effects in the area.

The old mines closed down long ago, but the remains of the workings still attract many visitors to the region

I "share the Air" in Kapunda with another 2 active and 1 inactive Amateur Radio Operators.
