To members of all South Australian Amateur Radio Clubs

The South Australian Wireless Institute of Australia Advisory Committee would like to invite you to some events. As we will have a large number of amateur radio operators in town for the Adelaide Hills Buy and Sell on the 13th of September it was decided to have some WIA events on Saturday the 12th of September to allow both country and metropolitan members to attend.

ALL  CLUBS  CONVENTION

An All Clubs Convention will be held on Saturday the 12th of September at the Arkaba Hotel on Glen Osmond Road Frewville

We hope that we can get several delegates from each club to attend the convention. Michael Owen will be present at the meeting and it will be an ideal time to discuss some of your concerns, thoughts and ideas with other amateurs on how best to promote amateur radio, club activities and the WIA.

The schedule is as follows:

At 12 noon we will have be having an informal lunch – this is optional.

The formal meeting will run between 1400 and 1700 giving us about 3 hours to have what I hope is a lively discussion.

Please email agenda items or suggestions to me and I will need to know the number of delegates attending so that sufficient seating can be arranged.

WIRELESS  INSTITUTE  DINNER

Many people have asked about the date of the next WIA dinner as the last luncheon was a great success.

On the 12th  of September we will be having an a la carte meal at the Arkaba hotel on Glen Osmond Rd, Frewville.

At about 1830 we will be having pre dinner drinks.

The a la carte dinner for amateur operators and their partners will commence at 1900hrs. It will be a good opportunity to catch up with amateur friends especially those from the country.

Michael Owen the president of the WIA will be in Adelaide for the weekend and this will be a good occasion for everyone to meet him.

This meal is not limited to WIA members.

BOOKINGS

It is important to get the numbers right so that we have sufficient tables set up. It would be best for a club official to make a list for each event and then email me the names of all their members who are certain they can attend. Remember that partners are welcome at the dinner.

Preferred format would be

Port Elliot Radio Club
