Early on Saturday the 3rd of March 07, Peter VK4KHP, Andy VK4BO, Helmut VK4STR, Bill VK4ZD,
Di VK4KYL, Bob VK4BYX, and Alan VK4SN, took task to erect the clubs repeater site near
Plainland in the Lockyer Valley.  Our club president Graeme VK4KML gave us tests from home once
the repeater was complete.  The pictures below show the successful outcome.

Bill and Alan leaving with the hut and concrete and other essentials for the day.

The trailer proves too heavy for Bills car. What ya saying Bill?

Alan rescues the trailer and tows it up the hill.

Andy levels the hut supports. The hut legs will be
suspended in the hole and concrete poured around the legs.

The hut is lifted off the trailer and placed on supports.

Final levelling of hut.

Foundations are poured

Helmut and others assemble the tower and top antenna

The mast is vertically polarised and base section is guyed
and the rest of the other sections pushed up to 50ft and guyed off.

Peter and Andy add the TX antenna

All finished.

In just two days, coverage was tested good into Ipswich, Lowood, Fernvale, Rosewood, Grandchester,
Laidley, and Gatton. Some areas into Brisbane are not covered, but marginal contacts to the
Springwood area have proven good depending on weather. In the coming days further reports should
be in for Toowoomba and district.
