The Netherlands:
Currently I am building a new beacon here. The frequency will be 50450 KHz, that is if they cut the X-tal on the right overtone freq :-)) Mode will be CW, power
10 watts into a inverted V and completely homebrew by myself. The X-tal should be here in a couple of days so then I'll know. It will be an almost permanent beacon meaning it will be on when i'm around the house (read off during working hours, about 4-5 hours a day). Here in PA it's not posible to get a license for a unmanned station as I had contact for a permanent license. Yes, I know there is a beacon in PA but that one is the exception of the rule. PI7SIX/b has got a license in cooperation with the Dutch Army who are the primary users of 6 meters in PA.
I chose 50450 because I support Pierre', HB9QQ proposal to move the beacon band up.
73 for now and let you know the details when i have them. Ray, PA4PA

I'm sorry to advise that the beacon VK6RSX on 50.304 MHz at Exmouth Western
Australia is QRT indefinitely. A new site is being sought. EMC problems at the
old site have forced the closure. With 50W omni, the beacon had been well
reported. Hopefully a new location will eventually be found at this
latitude. patndon@cygnus.uwa.edu.au

New Zealand, ZL:
The ZL1VHF 6M beacon at Auckland has been rebuilt, with a new transmitter, and a new keyer, and went back on air Wednesday evening.
Gone are the days of this beacon drifting in frequency, with the change in temperature throughout the day.
The new transmitter is on 50.0433 MHz, output power is 20W into a halfwave vertical, and the keyed ID is as follows:
"ZL1VHF AUCKLAND RF73MB ZL1VHF" followed by approximately 10 seconds of interrupted carrier.
The interrupted carrier is keyed on for 15/16 of a second, and off for 1/16th of a second.
In the unlikely event of a keyer failure, the transmitter will cease transmitting after 10 minutes of continuous transmission, thanks to a handy feature of this unit. The transmitter's frequency is PLL locked, and may drift by a few Hz only. Tests showed about 4Hz drift over a 3 hour period, from cold.
The beacon is still at the same site, about 30km SE of the Auckland CBD, and about 220m
ASL.

The 3C5I beacon is operational again. Watch for it on 50.096, with 30 watts
with beam heading chasing expected dx. Probably to Europe during day, LP to VK

continuous. If I am around the shack, it will call cq with a listening period.

VK6RSX Beacon:
Please be advised that the VK6RSX beacon at Exmouth WA (50.304
MHz) is reduced to intermittent service until further notice due to local
EMC problems. It may be necessary to find a new QTH if the service is
to continue. Other VK6 beacons on 50.066 (VK6RPH), 50.306 (VK6RBU) and
50.308 (VK6RTW) are operational. 73... Don VK6HK

The new Auckland 6m beacon is now on air, and running permanently from its new site.
The frequency is slightly low at the moment, but this will be corrected this weekend if everything goes according to plan.
The beacon is running 10 watts into a half wave vertical (omni-directional) from its site, 220m ASL, about 30km SW of Auckland city, and is on 50.0417 at present. It will be retuned to 50.043 MHz, where it will operate.
It is sending out the identification "ZL1VHF 6M WHITFORD". Please feel free to send this note onto other reflectors, etc.
Any signal reports would be very welcome, I can be E-mailed at tmoore@clear.net.nz, or by phone,

The beacon was build by DG8EB/DB6NT. 30% of the costs sponsored the German DARC-Club (OV N38) and 70% myself. The organisation and logistics were done by Val (you can imagine it is not so easy to find a resonable place for a beacon in such a hight!). Val and his guys build also the antenna.
