Welcome to the BARC News sheet for May 2011
BARCfest
This month is one of the busiest for the club because “BARCfest 2011” will take place on Saturday 7th May at the Mt Gravatt showgrounds in the Community hall. We would like to see as many members as possible at the hall around 7:30am to help set up and to assist during the day. Bookings are down a little this year but we may get some more next week.
Meetings
Don't forget that the next business meeting will be the AGM so give some thought to taking on a position and assist in the running of our club. Let's have some ballots for positions and not have members take a position by default.
The next meeting will be Friday 4th April at the maritime museum. There will be a talk on switch mode power supplies by Derek Webb. The business meeting is scheduled for Friday 22nd GOOD FRIDAY. Do you want the meeting this night or defer to the 24th April. We will decide at next Friday's meeting.

Going to Mars
Do you want to go to Mars???. NASA has made it possible to have your name added to a microchip on board the Mars Science Laboratory rover.

You also receive a certificate of participation to mark the event.
The WIA grant scheme has been announced and if you have something to suggest the club might obtain through the scheme let one of the management team know about it. Let's make an effort this year to get something out the scheme.
