Welcome to our first issue for 2011.

Well Christmas has come and gone for another year and we are all recovering from too much Christmas fare and settling for the year ahead.

I would like to apologise to all those who bought along food for our 2010 breakup which didn't occur due to circumstances beyond our control. I trust the food did not go to waste, but may have gone to waist.

At our January meeting on 28th we will be having a talk by Kevin VK4WA on UHF equipment he has been building and using so don't miss this one. This meeting will be a business meeting so if you have something you want discussed please speak up.

January 1st to 31st Ross Hull memorial VHF/UHF
15th and 16th Summer VHF/UHF Field day
29th and 30th CQWW 160 metres CW contest

Dawn, xyl of Kevin VK4ZR had a birthday on December 31st. Hope you had a good day. Frank VK4XK, has his birthday on 26th January. Please forward your birth date so I can include it in our news sheet. A bit of advice ... The more birthdays you have the longer you live.

The repeater has been holding up well considering the number of cloudy days we have had recently and some changes will be made to the repeater shortly. I will advise members when the changes are made. We are still looking for a suitable site for the repeater to give better coverage so please keep looking.

Nets will resume on Monday 24th for the HF net and Wednesday 26th for the 2 metre net.

That is all I have for this month and remember if you have something you want included please forward to me so it can be included in the next available news sheet.

I try to have the news sheet out as close to the 1st of the month as possible.

Until next month
