VK3FPG Station Details
My name is Paul and I am 33 years old I am married with a 1 year old boy who is already following in dad's
footsteps by ripping pages out of the current ARRL Handbook. The station location is in Caulfield, Victoria.
My occupation is Airline Services Operator a fancy name for aircraft loader and am employed by Qantas
at Melbourne International Airport. I have worked on 737's, 767's, 747's (passenger & freighters) 777's,
MD-11's, BaE 146's, DC-10's &Dash 8's just to name a few.
My station consists of:
IC 756 the new Icom DSP transceiver 1.8Mhz to 60Mhz with Spectrum Scope
For Digital Modes I use a Kantronics KAM Plus v7.1 & Tigertronics BP2M
I mainly use RTTY but am slowly gearing up to get onto SSTV
Antenna's for HF consists of a 3 element Tribander 10/15/20 a single element quad for 17m and
dipoles for 40 & 80. I also have a Butternutt Vertical for 10/12/15/17/20/30/40/80 and a 2 element
quad for 6m.
I use the Ameritron AL-811 Linear Amplifier when needed.
For SWL duties I have the NRD-525, Sangean 818CS and WinRadio.
Antenna's used are Alpha Delta DX-Ultra, Alpha Delta SW Sloper 60ft & T2FD
