2000 NZ VHF/UHF Field Day Contest, Manganui Bluff. NZ.
Pictures and report courtesy of Tim Moore, ZL3VTV /ZL1
Here are a few pics of our 2000 VHF/UHF field day site, at Maunganui Bluff, some 260km northwest from my QTH, by road.
Our team this year was myself, Peter, ZL1UKG, Vaughan, ZL1TGC, Mike, ZL1ABS, and Brent, ZL1KA.
The views with the antennas have the 6m array to the left, 70cm vertical, 70cm Horizontal, 2m H, and 2m Vertical.
The smaller of the two tents waas where the 13cm (2424.5 MHz) and 9cm (3456.5 MHz) contacts were made from.
This is probably one of the biggest field day setups that is set up every year in ZL, and this year we had gear operating
on 8 bands from 6m to 3cm, and despite the lack of other stations to contact, we still had a ball.
1. is looking southeast towards Auckland (170km as the crow flies), and towards Dargaville, 45km south.
