Operating procedure

1-Check that the node or repeater is not in use
2-Announce your Callsign prior to dialling (eg "VK2??? calling IRLP")
3-Dial the required node or reflector number on your DTMF keypad
4-When the node dialled opens, listen to ensure the repeater is not in use at the other end
5-Call CQ or your preferred contact
6-Remember some repeaters have short timeout
7-Leave a 1 to 2 second delay after PTT activation before talking
8-Leave 2 seconds before replying for the computer linking
9-When finished, announce you are closing the link and dial "73" to close the connection
