Welcome to my amateur radio page, my name is August Ustare and I live in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. I received my basic qualification in May of 1999 and my station license in July 1999. My callsign is VE7TRD, which was chosen because of my interest in off-road driving and Toyotas. TRD, or Toyota Racing Development, is the motorsports division of the Toyota Motor Company. I initially wanted to use my initials as my callsign but since most variations of "AU" were already taken I chose TRD. I am currently borrowing a radio from a friend of mine until I can afford to buy a 2m mobile or handheld. It is a Motorola Radius VHF 8 channel mobile.
