In order to broadcast audio using Winamp, you would need to have a SHOUTcast Server for Winamp to connect to. The purpose of the SHOUTcast server is that it allows people using Winamp to connect to it and begin downloading content being streamed off the Internet, and the content is live, and up to the minute. This server software allows unlimited people to connect, (assuming you have enough bandwidth to compensate for the bandwidth usage). Using Winamp, you can configure the player to connect, and begin to accept data which is then sent back to everyone who connects to listen. The person running the SHOUTcast server has the ability to maintain several aspects of the Server via the Internet. By accessing the HTML management pages, you can shutdown a server, change the maximum number of connected users, check usage, and kick users off the current stream. To obtain the latest copy of the SHOUTcast Server, please click the image to the left. [filesize - 51k] | |
Are you having troubles Installing and configuring your SHOUTcast Server? Or maybe you want to know more about it before you download and install it. If any of that is true or not, then click here or, on the image to the left... |
