Amateur Radio Station VE3WMB / VA2NB
You have stumbled upon my Ham Radio site. I was first licensed in 1980 as VE1BXR and upgraded to Advanced Amateur in 1981. I now hold the callsigns VE3WMB and VA2NB ( my cottage station) and I am also the trustee for the Ottawa Valley QRP Society call VA3OVQ.
I started out in this hobby operating QRP CW with a Heathkit HW-8 that I built myself. After an absence of about 5 years in the mid to late 1980s I got back on the air again as VE3WMB and acquired a used Ten Tec Argonaut 509. Since then I have built a lot of QRP kits including Elecraft K1 and KX1, KD1JV ATS-3A, a couple of Small Wonder Labs SW-xx+ rigs and some OHR QRP mono-banders. I spend most of my time operating CW, usually at 5 watts or less, with wire antennas or a 4BTV vertical.
