Once in a while we find out what it really takes to put on a new Canadian island. All the stories of hard treks through the mountains, or through snow drifts 5 feet deep, end up with the following results. The poor horse had to do all the work. But we know at least that Russ has to fill in the QSL cards, because his hand writing is much better than that of the horse.

Russ seems to make friends with all of the animals and birds. This duck would not leave him alone while he was working the pile-up. Maybe that explains some of the reports we were getting from him on this expedition from BC067.

All this means that you can have fun while activating an island. So the next time Russ tries to tell you that it is a lot of work, just remind him of these pictures.
