I wish that I could say that I have an antenna
farm like some of the Hams in Ontario.

Unfortunately, I live in an apartment in the
central downtown core of Toronto.
Fortunately, I live on the top floor and have
access to the roof and the tower that was
waiting for me when I moved in!

I currently have two HF antennas in operation ...

The first is a mutli-element, multi-band
long wire inverted V made by Aplha-Delta.

The antenna uses ISO-RES coils ... not traps!
HF Elmer's call this thing a "cat-whisker"
since the multiple elements resemble
a cats whiskers.

With its center insulator secured to the
top of the tower, it is 200 feet above
ground, and 80 feet above the roof.
Of course, the hard part was finding
a tower monkey to put it up there!

The inverted V is oriented north-south
but radiates in an omni-directional pattern.

The second antenna is a Cushcraft trapless
mutli-band vertical, operable on 10 through 80
meters which, quite often, performs well for
DX but tends to be a noise collector,
especially in the city!
