Subject: [Elecraft] K2 Calling Freqs This list of QRP Calling Freqs was published at least a year ago... don't recall where but I will type the USA par of it in here for anyone who may like to refer to it... Band CW/SSB Novice 160 1810/1910 80 3560/3985 3710 40 7040/7285 7110 30 10106 20 14060/14285 17 18096/18130 15 21060/21385 21110 12 24906/24950 10 28060/28885 28110/28385 (also 28485 and 28715) I am usually looking aroung the 15/20/40 CW freqs evenings in CA. Looking for other K2 serial numbers to add to my growing collection (now at 53). 73 de Jerry/k6iii K2 #500 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mark, K7MAS, wrote: "I'm aware that the "Official" Elecraft/K2 SSB frequency is 28.715. I wasn't aware of a special one for K2 owners. According to the info I have the QRP SSB frequencies for other bands are: 160: 19.10 kHz 80: 3.985 40: 7.285 20: 14.285 17 18.130 15 21.385 12 24.950 I, too, would like to see more QRP SSB activity. I'm an old 'dyed in the wool' brass pounder, but sometimes yakking at a microphone is a pleasant exercise if there is an interesting op on the other end. In the UK we have 80m 3.5 - 3.8 MHz QRP CW: 3.560 QRP phone: 3.690 and 40m 7.0 - 7.1 MHz QRP CW: 7.030 There does not appear to be a QRP phone frequency allocated on 40m over here. 73 David G4DMP ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Date: 8 Jun 2001 09:55:21 -0700 From: Chris Cummins Subject: Re: [Elecraft] FREQUENCY LIST On Thu, 07 June 2001, "Dana D. There is a humongous list of frequencies but here are a few to get you started: QRP CALLING FREQUENCIES (N-NOVICE E=EUROPE): CW / SSB 160M - 1.810 / 1.910 (E=1.843) 80M - 3.560 (N=3.710) / 3.985 40M - 7.040 (N=7.110 E=7.030 / 7.285 30M - 10.106 (QRP-L: 10.116) / 20M - 14.060 / 14.285 15M - 21.060 (N=21.110) / 21.385 (E=21.285) 12m - 24.906 / 24.950 10M - 28.060 (N=28.110) / 28.885 (N=28.385) 6M - 50.060 / 50.885 (E=50.285) 2M - 144.060 / 144.285 (E=144.585) 73 de Chris kb9vos at email.com [=> K1#0450 40/15 <=] +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Date: Fri, 08 Jun 2001 13:12:38 -0700 From: Jeff Stai WK6I Subject: Re: [Elecraft] FREQUENCY LIST hi - in my continuing effort to clear up a few things... 1) On 6m and 2m -no one- is listening on those frequencies. Suggest you haunt the main calling frequencies of 50.125 and 144.200 (50.099 can work if the band is already open). And by the way, 50.060 is the lower end of the US beacon band (see 97.203(d)) - below 50.060 are DX beacons. It would be sad to interfere with those! 2) 28.885 is commonly used worldwide as a "six meter liaison" frequency. You can certainly call CQ there and get an answer, but it won't often be a QRP station you are working. 6m at least usually does not discriminate against QRP - in fact today I worked K0FRP on 50.165 phone and he was S9+! In my opinion the need for special frequencies for 6m QRP is not compelling. The above list keeps getting repeated, and at some point needs to get fixed to reflect VHF reality! (*) thanks - jeff wk6i (*) Yes, you are welcome to use the frequencies noted above for QRP contacts - BUT if you want to be successful with random contacts, please consider the advice given! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
