Hi Alex, I suspect you meant to say you heard a signal every 5 kHz, not mHz. Did you rerun CAL PLL after the upgrade? The new firmware has an improved frequency calibration algorithm and needs to be recalibrated before use. Your symptom is typical if it is not done. Don't forget that the 2.01 firmware CAL PLL only needs to be run on 40M to calibrate all bands. 73, Eric WA6HHQ -------- Alex Turner wrote: > After installing upgrade to Ver 2.0 it seems I am "hearing" some > interference from the encoder circuitry. > As I tune very quickly I hear what sounds like a signal every 5 MHZ or so. ++++++++++++++++++ To: elecraft at mailman.qth.net Date: Wed, 6 Mar 2002 20:36:38 -0700 Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Encoder Noise? From: Gary L Surrency That freq. is the second harmonic of the 5.068MHz AGC mixer/oscillator. As Eric already commented, you *must* run CAL PLL again only on 40m, after upgrading to v2.01 from a firmware version prior to v2.01.
